Position is part-time – 21-Hrs/wk, calendar year, limited to 09-30-2018 with extension contingent upon funding approval.

Duties and Responsibilities

BASIC FUNCTION:

Develop and deliver community based programs as part of a USDA funded nutrition assessment and outreach grant targeting limited income populations. Conduct applied research and community-based nutrition education as part of a regional USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (USDA SNAP-ED) project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct community-based nutrition education research and risk assessment with targeted audiences.

Conduct data management/needs assessments and evaluation (including analysis of qualitative and quantitative data related to programmatic efforts.)

Build priority level collaboratives among SNAP-Ed partners and recruit community participants.

Direct and compile data for state and federal reports as required.

Assist in grant/proposal writing and securing new funding opportunities.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as required.

LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Desk-top and lap-top computers, body composition tools, Nutritionist V software, SPSS, and Microsoft Office or Quark Publishing.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED:

1. Master’s degree in Nutrition.

2. Demonstrated evidence of Registered Dietitian eligibility.

3. Minimum of two years’ experience in nutrition education/public health (including minimum one years’ experience working with SNAP eligible, low-income adults and youth in community-based settings).

4. Demonstrated fluency in speaking and writing Spanish.

5. Demonstrated experience in data management and data analysis.

6. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

7. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
