Job Description Summary, Duties and Responsibilities, Required Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications | APPLICATION DEADLINE: This is an open until filled search. First consideration will be given to complete applications received by January 31, 2018. Second consideration may be given to applications received by April 30, 2018. Applications received subsequent to second consideration date (April 30, 2018) may not be given full consideration. The Department of Pharmacy Practice at The University of Rhode Island invites applications for a calendar-year, non-tenure track faculty position at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor beginning July 2018. The non-tenure track position is for two years with continuation expected. The successful candidate will develop a critical care clinical pharmacy role within a teaching health system possessing a well-established medical critical care/pulmonary fellowship program. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish a clinical practice in critical care at appointed affiliated practice site. Precept student pharmacists and pharmacy practice residents in critical care. Provide didactic instruction in required and elective coursework in the College of Pharmacy. Develop Grand Challenge and/or other general education class(es) for the University. Work collaboratively with pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health professionals. Serve on college, university, and hospital committees as appropriate. Develop a program of scholarship in critical care practice and/or teaching and learning. Travel to campus, and practice site(s) within the integrated health system. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 1. Pharm.D. degree 2. Pharmacy license in Rhode Island, or eligible for RI licensure. 3. PGY 2 residency in critical care or fellowship in critical care or equivalent experience (defined as a minimum of 5 years of experience in critical care practice with at least 50% of time spent providing service, teaching, and/or performing scholarship in one or more critical care patient care areas). 4. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills. 5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. 6. Demonstrated experience working with diverse individuals and/groups of people. 7. Demonstrated post-secondary teaching experience. PREFERRED: 1. Board Certification in Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP). 2. Experience in establishing a new critical care clinical practice. 3. Clinical precepting and mentoring experience. 4.
